What had such a deep impact on your life that it totally transformed who you are?
Well in my case it was the birth of my beautiful daughter. From the second I heard that first cry I knew for a fact that my life would never be the same again.
That’s when reality hits you. All your senses are on edge. That’s when I knew my daughter has transformed my life.
Becoming a dad is one of the best things that has ever happen to me next to meeting my wife. All you fathers out there know exactly what I’m talking about. It’s just an indescribable feeling.
Somehow it changes your view on life. You react different to people and circumstances. You realize that you are not alone and need to consider that every action and decision you make from now on will have some kind of impact on your family.
In my case it changed the way I always thought of how life should be. I use to think ( like the majority of people) that after you graduate you get a job and work your way up the ladder. That’s the same principal I used when I joined the army some 16 years ago.
I started as a private and then moved up the classes true the years. And just when I was ready to become a sergeant I left the army and started working as a civilian because I didn’t want to miss one second of my baby-girl growing up. In a split second I decided that I no longer wished to be deployed.
But by doing this I had to start all over again. And to tell you the truth, the switch was not easy. I’m not getting any younger and it’s going to take to long for me to make a career from scratch working for somebody else.
So this is what got me looking for other alternatives. And if you keep your eyes open and believe that there is something better for you out there, one day you will hear that knocking on your door. In my case it was an old army buddy/friend that knocked.
Before my daughter came into my life I didn’t really have a life plan.
Never sad down to write my life path. Never read any inspirational book. Never had the necessity to learn anything but what the army had to offer. I lived in a save bubble. I wasn’t rich, but I never had to struggle. I had an easy going life.
But I’ve learned to turn things around. Now I have a plan, a vision and a goal. And by the way ,you are part of that plan. I’m building my path not just for me, but for my family.
Now I’m more motivated than ever before. I now know that life has so much more to offer. That I can achieve anything I want if I keep the right mindset. Life has been blessing me with a lot of good stuff these past 2 years.
And I know for a fact that there is so much more to come….
